Hi, I recently set up my 32.5 flex and it’s only been about three weeks and I can already see some cyno. What should I do? Or is it just part of the ugly stage of the cycle?

What are you feeding?
How much are you feeding?
How often are you feeding?

You need to go out and research each of these stages:

I feed frozen brine shrimp once a day, I don’t think I’m over feeding because I try to ensure no food is left floating around or falling on the sand.

It's the start of the uglies. Just focus on manual removal and keep up husbandry..they will come and go and you'll have multiple rounds of this.

The general progression is that your rock will turn yellow. Then brown, then green, the hairy green, the finally purple coralline. During this time you'll also get patches of purple slime here and there.

Welcome to the long journey of maturing your tank. Enjoy the journey, be patient, stay the course and avoid the temptation of quick fix bottles which oftentimes is just a trade off of temporary solution at the expense of delayed maturation process.

Water changes weekly with rodi water about 10-15%. Honestly haven’t been testing a whole lot but just picked up a Red Sea full test kit and am going to test weekly or less.

I have this black like hair algae growing on some of my live rock I’m just wondering if anyone knows what this is? And if it is just part of the stage I’m in with maturing my tank? Or if it needs removing and if it’s harmful to livestock any advice would be much appreciated thanks! (picture below)
