Thanks!
I was just getting around to messing with the chimney this weekend, trying to decide where I'm going to put it.
I would like to put it near my Gyre or my Tunze 6105 but my canopy is posing a slight problem, not with the chimney but with the eheim. I'll get it rigged up, but all the more important to really pick the best spot for it.
The length of the extension into the water worked out great. :thumb:

I have a few more pics to share. :)

Always thought these wall hammers look cool when closed up and under the actinic bulbs.

Maybe I missed in some earlier post. Could you explain your AWC system

Are you a photographer by trade? I searched Blue lemon photo and found a Houston based guy. His/her architectural and product stuff was nice. I have a decent passing knowledge of photography, but it has always been something I wanted to get more into. But is just as, if not more, expensive than a reef tank.

Maybe I missed in some earlier post. Could you explain your AWC system

I recall Dennis using the LiterMeter setup for the AWC. Basically one line takes water out as one line adds the water back in. I was going to purchase the same thing, however waited out and got the DOS pump for Apex and it works the same way and I like it better as I can monitor this from distance and I can change the amount of water from my computer/cellphone/tablet.

APEX AWC.jpg

Edit: I forgot to mention however there is a small loss in water due to the continuous water change around 1.5% meaning a 1.5g loss for me as I continuously change 1.5g per day in a 120g tank... and I can live with that as i typically do a manual water change every 2-3 months where I siphon the sump and parts of the substrate.

Beautiful pictures Dennis, stunning.

Finally got the Mangrove Tank set up.
It's the last piece of the puzzle!
Plumbing is now DONE! :tea:

Specs:
Glass Cages 18x18x16 tall.
24 lbs of Walt Smith's Fiji Mud
60 lbs of Caribsea Special Grade Arag-Alive Sand
200w Fluorescent with Daylight Spectrum bulb
I happened to have this fixture from my previous build. Will eventually look for something a little smaller/cooler.
4 Red Mangroves
2 Banggai Cardinals

My goal is to have at least one good tree going.
The Banggai Cardinals will go in tonight along with one of my giant red brittle stars.
And that will finally empty the holding tub!

Laying in the mud...

Sand...

Finished plumbing and filled with water.
Ended up with 7-8" of substrate at the tallest area.

It's not the prettiest setup with the plumbing and overflow but it's in the fish room.
I just want a bigass tree like Julian Sprung! :D
But I was going for more of a planted tank look and didn't want 6" or more of nasty substrate up agains the front glass.

These propagules are always so short. Might end up having to float them for a bit until i get some strong roots.
We'll see how it goes.

copy cat!

Growth has been insane on mine for the last 2 months. The first 2-3 months were them recovering and establishing, but now it seems like new growth is visible daily. Would love to see an update of yours.

Holy crap, is this real life?
That is way too coincidental!

Here's mine.
Two of the 4 didn't take off... black tips.
Did you start yours off under the water or somewhere else and then transplant in this tank?
Mine all have the top of the main green trunk exposed, but that was hard to do.
Two have sprouted leaves and are working on their second set of leaves.

I cheated, I bought mine off ebay with a couple leaves. Here is the build thread I started back in november
https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/member-tanks/181378-brads-mangrove-sanctuary.html
Well whatta ya know... i actually posted in that thread!
Totally forgot about that.
Looks great!

Meanwhile.... Just picked this guy up today.
This was the one fish I lost after transferring everybody back into the new tank. Disappeared within 24 hours.
This guy was traded into my LFS after a they introduced a Purple Tang that began bullying the Desjardini.
So far, he is fitting right into my tank.
