Ok what the heck...How did you manage to catch 2 mantis shrimp this fast? I had one in my tank and it took about 3 weeks to catch the thing.

Seriously, forgot everything about how great your tanks are...Catching two mantis shrimp in this short of a time? That's reefer of the year right there.

No mantis in this tank. That I know of anyway.
Actually, I question if mantis even like this 2.1 rock. They don't seem to populate it like they did the original TBS rock.
Probably not enough large holes running deep into the rock.
I did get two bagged up in my TBS goodies though. :)

That explains it! I couldn't figure out how you would have caught them so fast.

I love that anemone, but I read a thread on here awhile ago that nems aren't supposed to be white, that they are sick if they're white. Is that not true? Cuz that looks amazing, that stark white

REBUILD UPDATE:

Everything looking good so far.
The only thing that is off is a p04 spike, just like I had last time I set the tank up.
P04 was off the charts, literally. The Hanna ULR Phosphorous only goes to a reading of flashing 200, so my p04 was over .6.
But a water change and some GFO and two days later i'm down to .25 and it should continue to drop.

Coral are doing well. The old stuff is recovering and the new stuff is settling in.
Getting those new frags mounted. Color looks good so far and good PE.

The only two fish I have so far are the Blenny and a small Davinci Clown.
And the toad fish in the sump. He's been eating whole thawed silversides. Haven't seen him actually do it though... he's a shy little bugger.

And reef related... i upgraded the jeep yesterday. :D

On 3/23 I posted a pic of my empty tank.
Today, just 7 days later, d2mini is back in the game!

Here's a preview as I finalize the scape and start getting some coral back in the tank.
I lost most of my SPS and what I did save is mostly brown.
Most LPS are ok though.
Still have a few small pieces in the office nano.

Now I need some fish!
Picking up a Davinci from a local reefer tomorrow.

Wow, super nice that you got a spider crab in the deal! They'll clean worms out though, at least mine does, and anything else that comes near him minus *living* fish. Also cool you got flame scallops! I love when those little things freak out like they're swimming and move all herky jerky around. LOL
Nice recovery Dennis!
Cheers!

I haven't followed you for months but sad to know that you had to reboot the system.
At the sametime, happy to know that you are coming back stronger than ever and going much simpler route.
I started with Aquaforest system too, but slowly moving away to tried and tested Berlin method with crazy high light, high flow, high Alk and high nutrients .

BTW, am excited to know how's the granulosa doing ? Its one I find quite finicky ...

Regards,
Abhishek

Nice recovery!

Can you please recap your system config now? I saw you post that you will dose ESV BIonic until you can replace that with a calcium reactor. What else did you change? Is your AWC set up and running? Is your sump still going to flow the way you had it for Triton, would seem hard to change that at this point? Got the d2mini-spinning-ball-of-cheato rolling yet?

Sorry to hear you had to reboot but it looks like it was the right choice. I'm super impressed with how fast you were able to get it back up and running. I had similar issues with my triton dosing but I stopped dosing triton about a month ago and switched to 2 part until I can get my carx dialed in. I also hooked up a genesis awc system which has made the biggest difference imo and probably what saved me from having to reboot. Are you just going to set up and program float switches and pumps to handle your awc? Which pumps will you use? How much water will you change per day?
