a large turbo snail of mine knocked down a coral frag, and on the way down it damaged one of my no name chalices. The frag pierced just a couple of spots into the sharp ridges of the chalice, and now just a little bit of the skeleton is showing. all my params are good. Do these ussually heal easily or am I doomed?

i think you should be fine. usually the chalice will heal and regrow over the damaged part. it would only be an issue if the other coral had time to sting it, in which case you will see damage on whichever coral was losing the battle. imo, you should leave it alone and let it heal.

Oh that's so good to hear. Nothing by it thankfully! This has been my experiment for a while now. I got it and it was brown. Now it has tons of purple/red and green mouths! :-)

That frag will heal up nicely. I have a thread going about one of my chalices that is recovering from my lemon peel munching on it. There was a lot of tissue damage and my chalice is recovering slowly.
