Dead hammer coral skeleton sprouting babies

Was at the LFS the other day and they had a hammer skeleton that was sprouting a bunch of babies. They said it had been dead in a tank with live rock dead for the last 6 months or so. They put it in one of their invert tanks and a bunch of babies grew out. They said theyve had it happen before, and showed me another colony of one that grew from nothing. Ive never seen it before. Anyways…figured id share, sorry not the best pic.
