Moved to a new house and the only place to put my 120 is in the garage. The garage doesn't have many outlets; since I'm thinking on upgrading within a year, I need to start planning to add more outlets in the garage. Two 10 gauge lines should be sufficient to power ~300g reef tank running halides, leds, pumps, etc...right? The only other thing to run off these circuit will be a mini fridge, small chest freezer, two (probably pan world) pumps.

#10 wire is for 30 amp branch circuits and not what you want. You will want multiple #12 20 amp branch circuits. Ask you electrician for AFCI only breakers and multiple individual GFCI receptacles. Explain to them that you don’t want single points of GFCI failure and each piece of equipment should have its own GFCI receptacle.

I would use (3) dedicated circuits for a 300 gallon, in addition to what ever the garage needs for other utility circuits.

Thanks. I will let the electrician know when I meet him tomorrow.
