I just got one on a new torch frag, it might be dead though as I dipped the coral but I hope not and forgot to go check back later. This is a good reminder :)I've been trying to get this guy for a few days so I can show yall. I found this limpet hitchhiker and he was finally in a spot where I could grab him. Here's some pics.

I've got no idea how this guy made it in here. The only thing I can think of is the big feather duster, guess he came in on the tube? Anyways im naming him houdini because he kept disappearing when I tried to get picture earlier. I'd run to find my phone and come back and poof... hes gone! Maybe he'll get bigger and I'll see him again! I love limpets, if you couldn't tell I think they're adorable, still waiting for LOWLR (limpets only with live rock) tanks to take off lol.
How do you get this rich purple color to come out? Mine has gotten a little darker purple since I got it and doubled or tripled in size but nowhere near this deep purple color that you have. Or is it editing majik?Ah
You want an aggressive pavona? I’m looking to offload some :face-with-tears-of-joy:

In the picture of the fulll colony a few posts later it looks to be a similar color to mine.Idk
Mine is in very high par. Like 500 I think which is higher then it should like but it seems to love it.
Also it's in the heavy blue side of my tank.

Bummer. I get one or 2 that pop up occasionally I think from my maricultured marco rock also.
They are very effective against aiptasia in my experienceHonestly peppermint shrimp are pretty awesome, hasn't touched the aptasia yet but hopefully she will find it. Im saying she because she's carrying some eggs! Not expecting them to make it in the main tank but who knows, pretty cool. I like to see the antennae poking out from behind rocks and they choose cool places to perch, I saw her perched up in one of my gorgonians this morning, didnt get a pic though.
Found her behind the return nozzle when I got home.![]()
I bred freshwater shrimp for 4-5 years recently. I just sold off all my breeding shrimp about 1 year ago. Saltwater shrimp are not like freshwater they do not hatch as tiny shrimp they have a planktonic stage so fish, corals and filtration in tanks usually wipe them out in a standard tank. In the past I have seen berried females of peppermint, blood and standard cleaner shrimp and thought that would be really cool to set up a breeding tank. Would probably need to be a tank with just rock and some flow probably not flow from powerful in tank pumps. And then feeding probably need phyto and possibly rotifers possibly something else. Sounds like a lot....lol maybe if I wasnt burned out from breeding fw shrimp and fish. It is cool to see though!Honestly peppermint shrimp are pretty awesome, hasn't touched the aptasia yet but hopefully she will find it. Im saying she because she's carrying some eggs! I was aware of the planktonic stage thats why I said they probably won't make it. Ive watched videos on breedring sexy shrimp, the process is pretty cool. Its like a little copepod culture except a bit harder and more expensive. Then once they are past their planktonic stage you can move them into a breeder box until they get bigger. Id assume peppermint shrimp are more or less the same.I bred freshwater shrimp for 4-5 years recently. I just sold off all my breeding shrimp about 1 year ago.
