I love the variable control. I like the idea of being able to dial up or down the skimmer based on my bio load at the time. with my frag tank at one time or another I can shift the food input and bioload and shifting the skimmate accordingly is great.

I like the way the 1000i is quite and uses less energy than other similar skimmers
