Derasa clam placement

Hey all! Looking for suggestions on a placement of a derasa clam. I currently have it in a clam hammock but looks a bit small for it.. Not sure if it can open all the way. Would it be better off on the sand bed? Thanks!

They are perfectly fine in the sand. They'll only attach for a short time, but will lose all attachment as they grow.

you dont need a clam hammock for derasa, they are sand dwelling and dont attach to rocks when older
