So here is the desired list of fish for my 110 gallon reef tank. Dimensions are as follows: Height: 66â€, Width: 28â€, Length 42". I was hoping I could get some input on what I want to go in it.

2 x Clowns
Twospot Bristletooth Tang
3 x Blue reef Chromis
One Spot Foxface
Flame Angelfish
Blue Dot Jawfish

My concern is coral compatability, getting along and if I am pushing the overstocking too much. I am very much confused as it seems that there is much controversy over aggresiveness and coral compatability of some these fish. Thank you for any help, shared insight and experiences you have had.

The only real concern is the Flame Angel and nipping at coral.

Although, I have heard of a few FoxFace nipping as well. Although, not nearly as common and I would assume if well fed it should not be an issue.

Everything esle is good.

I have had a foxface before with no issues and a coral beauty but not a flame angel.

When the flames nipped did they damage the coral? Most of the people I read about with nipping said they didn't harm the coral though. Does the tank seem overstocked or no to u? Thank u for the swift reply!!!

The amount of fish for a 110 should be fine. However, it should take you 8-12 months to get up to that full load.

I have not had a flame or a fish that nipped so I can't say. I think it is just a case by case basis.

Some don't nip at all, so may nip a little and some may wipe our an entire coral. You just never know.

Dimensions are as follows: Height: 66”, Width: 28”, Length 42".

Im guessing your dimensions are a typo? either that or your 110g is more like ~335g lol

otherwise, assuming it truly is a 110g, Id agree with scruggy..your biggest potential coral nipper (or destroyer) is the flame angel

Flame angels are more likely to nip at zoas, clams, and fleshy brains. Some are safe some are not.

I have seen foxface nip at the same mix as the angel, although much less likely than the angel.

Blue spot jaws do best in tanks that are cooler temps than most reef tanks.

From my personal experiences, my flame angel destroyed one of my acans that had 4 heads on it and was killing my sps. I like the list but the flame. Was my favorite fish till he did all the damage and I had to get rid of him

So if I took the flame angel out of the equation what would be a good replacement, something along the same colorings and personality wise?
Also, I have an old 29G biocube that never really got used. would this be adequate for a qt tank or do i need to go bigger?

According to the water conditions chart on live aquaria they all have the same water temp.

Than LA is inaccurate in this case. Blue spot jaws are collected from the sea of Cortez. Water temps for them should be similar as catalina gobies of high 60's low 70's.

So is it all jawfish or just the blue spot that needs that cold of water? I was thinking of replacing him with the yellowhead jawfish. Can I do that?

So I was thinking I would replace the firefish with the carpenter flasher wrasse. Would this fit well in my lineup

Yeah that would work. But I think you should look at a melanarus wrasse. I love mine and he is beautiful

So I have completed my finalized list. I decided to keep the Fire Angel. I am keeping it on the list becaus I plan on using an autofeeder, either santamonicas DIY autofeeder or something similar, to dose the tank several times daily and it seems to be that if you feed it often enough it will leave ur coral alone. I did switch the bue spotted jawfish for the yellow head jawfish. This is also the order I plan on adding what I am adding. Now I just need to figure out what they will be fed and figure out my autofeeder from there.

2 x Clowns
Twospot Bristletooth Tang / Yellow Head Jawfish
5 x Blue reef Chromis
One Spot Foxface
Flame Angelfish
Yellow Head Jawfish

Keep in mind that Jawfish can make a mess in a reef tank, constantly dumping sand on corals, sometimes even stealing frags for their home. Better suited for a FOWLR IMO...

BAH. That is what gives the jawfish personality. that is precisely WHY it will be a good addition to my tank. lol

Well figured I would get the warning out there. I had to pull all of the corals out of my tank with my Blue Spotted Jawfish. It can get tiring cleaning up after them in a reef tank...

I appreciate the warning. Thank you. But that is precisely the reason I want a jawfish. Their unpredictability
