Yeah it will be nice to restart but also sucks losing as much as I did, I don't think my photos do it justice with how many colonies I had and very high end colonies but I will be back soon :)
I’m skimming through and am praying a little popcorn prayer that you will get some relief and help getting back into the good work. It’s not possible for anyone else to know what suffering affects anyone else with great precision except for Our Father in Heaven. I pray for His blessings upon you, and not just for Coral Wealth.

Have you made any effort to determine what happened?

Very unfortunate especially without knowing the true cause. Very sorry for the loss and I've been thru a complete loss twice now in the years I've played in this hobby.

I remember after a Hurricane I lost a 340 gallon I've ran for 8-10 years. People not in the hobby couldn't understand the pain at that time. Most never will understand.

The good news is that you have a blank slate to re start and a chance to make the changes you've thought about in the years. Thats the only positive advice I can give.

Also, I had a lot of friends step in to give back pieces I shared with them over time. Was pretty nice to see pieces coming back that I gave to others. Like you mentioned the amount of money invested. Really helps with getting started to have some step up to pay it forward. Gives you a reason to continue to be successful again. That's my experience.

So sorry for your loss! Stay strong as you start everything back up. Hopefully you uncover the cause and are able to address it moving forward.

@CoralWealth while I have not been in this hobby very long, or have accumulated such wealth in coral, I have also experienced a mass die out within a week of my tank. We've done everything from water changes, icp water tests, looking for stray voltage, checking to see if the light had melted, etc and nothing has turned up an answer as to why I lost most of my beautiful acans/zoas/torches. I'm still losing them and can go to sleep and wake up to a new skeleton in the morning. My fish and rfa are unaffected by whatever is happening, along with my mushroom and leather. I am so sorry you experienced such loss while you were away.

I'm glad that you're restarting and best wishes with the new build. I couldn't help noticing that ginormous Haddoni carpet on the right side of the tank? Mine ate a few thousand dollars' worth of fish so I yanked it to a separate tank!!!

I am so sorry to hear this, I too went through this 2 years ago. Lost everything. Not on your scale though. I was going to pull out of the hobby too, but some good friends talked me into to staying in and I am happy they did. It hurts now but you will return and probably stronger over time. Heart breaks for you my friend. But try to keep your head up.

Update as of 11/30
New build :)

So this post is really hard to write but I need to update everyone.

I just got back last night from a 3 week vacation in Europe. While I was away, my brother was staying at my house and watching the tank and my dogs. He always has done this over the past 8 years and maybe we have one or two dead corals, nothing crazy ever happened. He knows how to do water changes, etc. Unfortunately around 1 week in out of nowhere, some of my corals started to RTN so we did some things to try to stop that, really only water changes and dose some cipro at lights out as I have done that plenty of times before. It seemed to have stopped it, but 3 days later he sent me a video saying the tank was cloudy.

The tank was so cloudy you could barely see in but I saw enough to see the tissue just flying off of my corals. Long story short, I lost every single coral I had overnight. In 24 hours, I lost every frag and colony. I had over 50 massive colonies and 100s of frags, literally probably close to $100k-$150,000 in corals.

The weird thing is the fish were not impacted at all, never were breathing hard or anything. The anemones also were not hurt at all, it was just all my SPS corals. This may be one of the worst RTN events ever, I could not find one worse when looking online.

I am beyond devasting mostly emotionally as I spent SOOO much time and passion into this hobby but honestly financially too, I invested a lot in my tank and now to lose it all is beyond hard.

I am really just writing this because I have a ton of people message me about buying my frags, I post a lot of WYSIWYG and also because I wanted to tell everyone to enjoy their tank while everything is going good.

Here is a pile of all the dead corals I could get out so far, there is still a good amount in my DT and also my growout.

Here is a video of frags I was selling just a month ago.

Here is my main cut order thread when I sell corals, I have lost every single one of these colonies.

Here are some videos of my tank now, completely dead DT and my growout is now completely empty.

I was really debating if I just completely get out of the hobby or what I do next. I think I made up my mind that I am going to restart, I am going to keep my 180g display but get rid of my 600g growout and go much smaller with the growout, thinking a fiberglass tank that is around 8x2x1.

I will not be on R2R much over the next couple of weeks as honestly it really hurts me to look at nice SPS when I just lost everything and don't want to get anymore sad. I will probably be reaching out to some of the people who bought frags from me in the past to get started again, but that will not be till mid October most likely.

Sorry for your loss. Don't throw them away. I have had 4 that I kept in the tank(kinda like a coral memorial). They ended up coming back. One came back as a bunch of small ones growing on the old. Wish you the best.

Dude, that is awful. Glad you're getting back into it. I bought a few pieces from you a while back (can't even remember which ones) but they're not big enough to frag. I'd be happy to get you some once they are.

I appreciate that! If you ever get some photos, let me know and I can try to help point out a name but I know every single is different. Thanks for the kind words.

I’m late and never interacted before but I’m hoping it’s going okay now. I couldn’t imagine trying to recoup after that. Props to you and hope you return to glory.
