Diamond goby puting sand on my corals help

sup guys I have a few corals on frag rocks how can I get the rocks higher off the sand..so the corals don’t get covered in sand?? Can I add like some life rock flat rocks to my tank? Would the hurt my Establish tank? Here’s a few pics

That’s what diamond gobbies do. I’d move the coral to the aquascape or get a frag rack

Diamond gobies and any other Sand Goby for that matter are masters of aerating and cleaning the sandbed. However, a major flaw in keeping one of these destructive fish is that it takes mouth fulls of sand and sifts it in its mouth and usually spits it out in unfortunately places like on top of rock, corals and sessile inverts. You can raise your corals lying in the sand up in your rock work to help.

I have a sleeper goby that constantly bombs sand on corals. The Euphylia and Zoanthids do not seem to mind. Neither does my clam. Scolymia do not seem to appreciate it.. So I would say it is okay for some corals but not others.

I had this same issue and banished his dumb butt too the refugium area of my sump. Ironically this turned out to be great. He keeps the sand I have in there pristine and had plenty to eat. I can see him after hours when the refugium light is on. Turned into a win as he was grain of sand away from being flushed.

Ya that’s what they do. They will bury some corals over and over and look you dead in the eye.
