I sent off a ICP test due to Diatoms on my substrate.

RO/DI WATER showed 244.8 ug/l Silicon. This is my main concern. I did order all 4 new cartridges with 1 being resin for the DI. Also I ordered a new membrane. Should arrive in a few days.

Do ya’ll think this is the culprit for my Diatoms?

DISPLAY WATER:

Salt 34.91
Kh 7.23
Magnesium 1398
Silicon 64.81
Nitrate 1.38
Phosphate.02

TIA!!

It probably doesn’t help, however diatoms and other algae grow always and regardless of nutrient levels. They are the early adopters to colonize…

does this mean I should just replace the stuff I ordered for the RODI SYSTEM and just let it work itself out?

Do you have a TDS meter for your source water? I would probably replace regardless, my last ICP for Ro/di test showed 0 for everything.

Edit:
Just rechecked mine with TDS meter reading 0.

SiSilicon0.362 mg/l
SiO2Silicate0.778 mg/l
