Good morning all, i have a few differant chalices and i have noticed some have long sweeper tenicules and others have short tenicules like an acan. What determines this? Is it lack of food or just the types of chalices they are?

If I am remembering this correctly the term chalice actually refers to a number of different coral species. Thus each chalice might be from different groups and that is probably where the differences come from, also there will still just be some natural variation between ones from the same group.......so in other words because nature is weird, that is why lol

What Shep said. I can also tell you that every Echinopora I've had has been the more aggressive longer tentacle type of "chalice".
