I’m pretty new to owning a RBTA and I have seen a few different variety’s sold and talked about. Some are more garden variety and some more rare fetching hundreds. I wanted to see if we could have a thread devoted to showing some of the different types and if you have some extra info on it like lineage, or history that would be cool to read about.

Wow, some really nice BTA’s!

I got to thinking abut this because I visited a lfs who does buy some of his stock from customers. He had about 20 BTA’s in a basket but I would say 3-4 clearly different colorings. I asked and he said they came from 3 different peoples tanks. I dove in and picked a smaller one out and I’m really happy with it.

While doing some research here I came across some of the different named ones. I really like the black widows and some of the the named ones. I’m still happy with mine but I was amazed at how different the coloring can be on these.
