So I got a 2 spot goby today without realizing that it needs a copepod population to survive, I have not tried to feed him any frozen food yet, but I fear he won't eat it.

My tank is 6 months old and I have no pods in it, it is a 25 gal IM Lagoon, so should I just periodically buy pods for him and hope for the best or try to make a diy refugium in one of the slots in the back of the tank where the caddies go?

I'd definitely suggest seeding a pod population and periodically ordering more until they're well established. Hopefully he'll take a bit of frozen food, but highly recommend adding pods as soon as you can

As far as I know they are sand sifters not copepod eaters like mandarins. If you do some research you'll see very few people have had success with them. My experience had been they don't eat and simply disappear.
