Dimmable outlet

I'm curious, has anyone found a good use for the dimmable outlet? It seems like a very cool feature but I haven't been able to think of a practical application for it.

The "best" I've come up with is to get some dimmable blue LED's to mount to the back of the tank stand to create backlit mood lighting.

It could also used for "moon" lights. The best use I can think of would be a dimmable light in stand for when working underneath.
