Dipping frag disk

Hi I just wanted to share my progress with dipping a zoa frag plug in hydrogen peroxide 3%. Never done it a so a little nervous.... So I bought a gmk a couple of months ago and hair algae grew on the plug so I used a toothbrush and removed what I could by hand but it keeps coming back so I decided to dip the disk. All three containers are filled with tank water. Plan was to use first container for the dip, which ended up being 1 part peroxide 4 parts water scrub the zoa and disk and let it sit for 5 mins. Other 2 containers are just tank water to rinse.

At that point, I’d use a razor blade to scrape it off the disk and glue it to a fresh one, since it’s a single head.

I didn’t think of that but there was some on the zoa itself so I thought I might try it

I do the same thing regularly. Unless something changes with your water parameters the algae comes right back in a couple months. I use 2 parts tap water and 1 part peroxide and let it sit for 3 min. Never scrub anything after. The dead algae either gets eaten by hermits/snails or just wastes away. Always comes back though....

Sometimes I even hit the frags with straight peroxide and let it sit for a couple minutes if I can do it without hitting too much of the coral.
