Discoloration on Anthias side

Only had time to give a 60 minute ruby reef rally bath, have to take a dog to a vet appointment. Could I use the same bath bucket tomorrow or does whatever is in the ruby reef rally dissipate too quickly?

60 minutes is better than nothing, I would just wait a couple of days to see if the metroplex works now. I don’t like giving a bath more often than every 48 hours unless it’s a last-ditch effort. I also would pitch the bath water and mix up fresh next time, if needed.

All fish still alive and I haven't noticed any additional discoloration yet on any of them. It may be wishful thinking, but the spot on the female may not be as bad looking today. Not as red anyway. The real trick will be getting all of these little buggers to eat consistently. The male eats almost anything so far, the females are much more picky. They love freshly hatched baby brine, and at times seem to eat cyclops, frozen brine, LRS, or frozen mysis but none of it consistently. Yay. In all honestly, it's almost impossible to tell if they're eating the cyclops though since it's so small.

Performed WC and dosed Metro again. The obviously infected female is not looking good. Appears the "sore" grew overnight. She's still swimming around though, but I can't see that she's eating anything. Other 3 anthias still look fine.

Anything else that might help the female pull ahead? I’m thinking maybe another rally bath but not sure on timing, or adding kanaplex in case of secondary infection?

I would feed metroplex/focus in the food and continue metroplex as the instructions show for a full 14 days. Uronema is rough, and unfortunatley there's no guarantee that they will not become reaffected (if it's been in your DT). But in my opinion MOST fat/healthy fish can fight it off to where it won't be problematic. The recent increase in uronema is due to the poorer condition of fish through the distribution system (in my opinion). A long observation period, good nutrition, and treatment in quarantine MAY work. I suspect it will for many.

Yes, feeding in food as well as QT. I QT all fish, so these never made it in. I'll continue the metro for the full 14 days and hope the female makes it. If the one dies, I may just transfer the remaining 3 to a fresh 10gal QT tank and continue the metro there.

I think the advice you have provided this far is on point. At this time I would just continue the metroplex schedule along with continuing to treat internally by food saoked metro.

A secondary infection is fully possible and definitely something to watch for.

The badly infected female passed overnight. So, 3 anthias down, 3 to go...

At least so far non of the others are showing an issue, but then again it's been purely one at a time to show issues, perish, and then a day or two later the next one pops up. Hopefully the metro staves it off.

Sorry for the loss. Yes twice the dose works better. However, once uronema is visible it’s often too late. At that point it’s more about preserving the other tankmates, IME

The seachem directions, I can't stand them. Use 1-2 measures. How vague is that! Definitely recommend using the 2 measures (max dose) per 10g if you are in the middle of a Uronema breakout. Uronema is virulent and takes fish very quickly...

Good, I don't feel bad for using 2 scoops for 15gal then ;). I wonder how many of us actually follow the exact, manufacturer suggested doses lol! My wife is a pharmacist and my "calculations" drive her crazy. In the navy we called it radcon math. Close enough works, maybe a little more...

So far, so good with the remaining 3 anthias. Ironically I posted in a thread that we shouldn't treat with antibiotics prophylactically. This has challenged my opinion. In any case, 1 week into the 14day regimen. I may start copper soon, as early as today. The male anthias is hanging out in the bubbles from the air stone at times. Not sure if he just thinks it's fun or if something like ich or velvet is agitating him though it's usually his hind quarters, not the head and gills, that are in the bubbles.

I have Anthias right now with Uronema internal. Feeding Metroplex and praying. I paid $100+ for a trio. They’re eating and doing great. Hopefully they will be ok. If I know Uronema, it doesn’t play be the rules. When you think you got it beat...boom..everybody dies.

Thankfully I have a 60 cube to use as a long term observation tank before fish go into the DT. I'm going to be pretty careful with these 3.

I’d definitely use two scoops in the water column and to be honest I’m using a bit more in my food.

I’d focus more on the internal as they are more numerous inside vs outside from what I’ve been seeing.

No doubt this is one parasite that’s got personal for me and I’ll definitely keep you guys updated on my end too. I suspect I’ll start loosing fish soon, but I’m hoping the > dosage will hold them off and eventually kill them.
