I have a CB Pink Dreams chalice that has slowly been changing its color. It lost its green rim, and is now a brownish maybe purple? The bright orange and pink eye has started to diminish and looked brown too. I'm wondering what I can do to change this or what may have caused this? I have several other chalices and all have great color and growth. Parameters are stable. Alk and Mag are a little high, 10 and 1500+, but have remained very steady. I have it placed at the bottom of my tank with very low flow. Thanks for any input!

to much light.. place them in a shaded spot.

Done! I moved it today. So chalices typically brown when getting too much light? They do not lighten? I'm going to try and get a picture comparing the change. I think the browning is confusing me as this chalice is typically a very dark purple, so I'm having trouble discerning on whether it is simply growing out weird. It seemed to rapidly shift colors in the matter of a week or two. :/

It has also been in the one spot for about 2-3 months with no issues of color change and consistent growth. Is it typical for it to gradually brown?

I am not a chalice expert but I know many SPS and even some LPS brown out if the nutrients are too high.....what is your nitrate level?

My cb pink dreams did not like much light. I had to shade it to survive.

Nitrate is 20 right now. All other chalices are colored up bright and perfect with consistent growth, so I'm thinking it might be too much light. Moved it into a little cave a couple days ago, so we'll just have to wait and see.
