Decided to make a refugium for my 12 gallon nano.

Using a 5.5 gallon. Making the first compartment a wet dry with a egg crate ontop with floss to reduce the flow and leading to the refugium.

I cut the glass I had laying around at home and it came out decent (pretty sketchy actually lol)

Looks ugly in the first compartment because couldn't find clear silicone which I then used for the other panels.

Finished - the small blocks in the first compartment are to hold up the egg crate. Looks super messy lol

Giving it 24 hours to dry and then will run a water test to see how it goes.

WOW! Didn't have any paper towels handy. That thing looks like a hot mess. What did you use to cut the glass, a pocket knife and a hammer?
:jaw:
Seriously though, if you could have waited for the clear silicone half of that mess would not be noticeable. Did you make sure the silicone was 100% silicone with no mold inhibitor?
Be careful around the top of that jagged glass. Next time you cut glass, slow and forceful to cut and break along a hard straight edge with smooth force.

I'm not hatin', just giving some constructive criticism. Good luck!

My suggestion, remove it all. Head to lowes and have them cut the glass. You don't need 1/4" glass for such a small tank the flow will be minimal at best. You would really be better off for it.

Lol the first slab was my first was somewhat in a rush (things rushed come out longer) realized I grabbed the wrong bottle and got sealant and things got messy, came out really bad. So after getting this criticism I decided to take of that first compartment and ended up cracking the tank LOL
