Well since there is a new forum for frag tanks I thought I would document my first attempt at building an acrylic frag tank. I bought an acrylic tank that was a fixer upper for $20. It was about 45 gallons and after getting it home it looked like the seams were really bad and leaking.

So I cut the tank apart and I started to clean everything up. I may try to polish out some of the scratches just to get a feel for how it works. I have settled on cutting down the panels so the tank will end up being 35"×21"×11" which should give me a nice little 35 gallon tank.

Weld-on 4 came in the other day so hopefully I can start the assembly process in another week or two.

I hope you’re recovering well and the tank is coming along.
Thank you! Unfortunately I ended up having to have a second surgery on the same knee. Put me off my feet for 6 weeks. I'm back on my feet now and I'll be starting the assembly of the tank in the next week or so.

So very small update, buddy from work hooked me up with an old Maxspect R420 light he had laying around. Should make an ok starter light for the frag tank. Now off to Lowes to pick up a couple of claps so I can start assembly!!

Got 2 panels cut to size, need to route the edges before I bond them together. I didn't realize how bad of a job I did when cutting it apart. But I'm on my way to getting this up and running!
