Some of you are familiar with my nightmare with the Aquamaxx CaRx. That has been sent back. I want a Geo 612 to replace it but that's about 6 weeks out. I was thinking that in the meantime I can utilize my old Geo Kalkstirrer as a CaRx with a few simple modifications. What do you guys think? The pics speak for themselves but here is what I intend to do. My regulator has a bubble counter so I dont need one.
-Turn drain into CO2 in
-Replace pump with something much larger
-Pipe pump input up to 1/2" from lid to reuse CO2
-Build up an eggcrate table and lay stainless screen on it for media to rest on
-Replace input and output on lid with push-to-connects. The input will be located where the pump input pipes up and I'll run a 1/4" tube to the 90 so most of the input will go into the recirc pump and bond with incoming CO2
-Save around $500
Concerns-
- properly diffusing pump output into bottom of reactor to disperse throughout all of media instead of channeling in the center if it.
Comments are much appreciated!
