Old thread, but somebody give the OP a medal! Just successfully tried this exact method to get a Tomini tang that was outgrowing my 55g reef out of it!

It’s a great trap. I have used it twice now. Both times with great success. Just sitting in my chair watching tv and the tank holding the fishing line waiting to close the door. This old thread deserves a regular bump to the home page.
