246.24 ml of 1000ppm F solution will raise 120 gallons 0.54 ppm.

You can use Google sheets to open the calculator also.

How does everyone dose fluoride? Moonshiners is telling me to add 150 ml per day for 12 days. I have a 50 ml measuring…thing. Is there any issue with dosing 50 ml 3x a day in my sump? I ask because I did that tonight and noticed a dead snail a few hours later.

I dose 100 mil of fluoride 24/7. Plus, whatever my ICP says I should add on top I add it from captivate.

400 gallons. It’s a 150 ml per day for 12 days.

I dosed 150ml in a 120 gallon. Two days in a row. Went from .073 to .13 with no probs all my snails are fine

I dose what ever the spreadsheet has I think that is 0.1 ppm per day max.

I don’t know anything about why moonshiners does what they do, but raising fluoride slowly to natural levels is no more risky than water changes and I don’t see why a snail would die if the doses were appropriate.

Chemicals can often dissolve faster at higher temps, even those with lower solubility in warm water. In this case, the solubility limit of NaF is far higher than your solution, and increases a small amount with raised temp. I'd just let it stir overnight.

If it is not 90+% dissolved by morning, I suspect a problem.

This is in 0 ppm TDS RO/DI, right?

When should I expect the powder to fully dissolve? Same concentration as DIY guide 10g 99.9%pure NaF per 1L of 0TDS rodi water. It has been stirring for over 24 hours @ 25C.

I still see very fine white particles floating/settling out when shining my flash light through the solution.

On page 1-2 of this thread someone suggests the RMS concentration is 2.2g/l

That’s how I mix it and can get it to dissolve with 1-2 hours stir. Maybe 10g is too much to disolve?

What did you use? The cloudiness is likely impurities of some sort. True solubility of sodium fluoride is close to 40 grams per liter.
