Can I use LED light strips to grow corals?
I have a 6 gallon tank and want to put just xenia in my tank. I have no money and a few extra wifi rgb light strips I'm going to make a light with. Will xenia grow if it just has blue or violet light? I know this isn't ideal but I'm on a very tight budget and will work on saving for a better light.

Hard call. Obviously it will depend on the intensity and spectrum they provide. Maybe if you are more specific about what you plan to use, someone could help you.

Xenia are good with lower lighting but will likely not be happy with a brand new tank (too clean).

Oh awesome thank you! My tank is a 6.6 gallon tank, small I know. The LED light strip is 12 volts 36 watts. Just some I bought on Amazon a long time ago that I don't need for anything. There is a video on YouTube of a guy wrapping the light strip around a thin PVC pipe as many times as possible and then putting it in a cut rain gutter with reflective tape inside to help reflect all light down. I'm not sure if the reflective tape would increase the PAR or not. The LED lights are connected to wifi so I can set timers and different colors ect.
