I’m trying to do my own frag rack at 23” x 40” with black acrylic up top and then fluorescent under that but I can’t seem to find where people are buying the silicone plug holder material they sandwich in the middle. Does anyone know where to find this? Attached are what I’m referring to.

i dont know where you get those... but do you want them for looks or purpose? cause they do look cool, but the only time they were really necassary was when i had some big fish grabbing my plugs and dropping them around the tank... those held the plugs in place.

I want them to be able to hold the plugs while transferring light to the fluorescent orange sheet below it. If I just did a 9/16 hole no light would get to the bottom.

I’m wondering if I couldn’t use two of these and cut them to size use a leather stamp to cut out the holes. Does anyone know if this would be reef safe?

I would attach one end to the wall then the other end have to hangers from the ceiling to help with the weight.

I made a canopy that is 48L× 28W the back that attached to the canopy to the wall I used a 2×8 and some pretty heavy duty lag type screws. 2 lags screws Going into 2 studs and then some regular 4" screws Going into 2 other studs. This thing can handle a small child hanging on it. But it only comes off the wall 28". That's why I recommended putting 2 hangers on the farthest point to help old yours up because of the distance it's going to span. If this makes any sense.
