I recall some of you were making/using a skimmate locker. Does it work well to remove the smell?

I moved my daphnia, rotifer, and brine shrimp cultures into 5 gallon buckets, and they are producing really well, but the cultures have a bit of skimmate-like smell in-between water changes. I need to come up with a way to get rid of the odor.

Does anyone have a good suggesting to get rid of the aroma?

I'm using a charcoal air purifier used by hydroponics operations for their odor control. The price is a little high but it does remove odors

Thank you guys!

Hydroponic air purifier may be a bit of an overkill for my cultures, but I can install a large pill box and fill it with GAC or borrow Matt Ellis's idea of putting a bulkhead strainer. I hope it will work okay.
