DMP-40 high pitch noise

Anyone getting almost like a coil whine from their DMP-40s? I just installed one today and it’s a high pitch noise from the dry side, I cannot stand listening to. Will most likely return.

Looking to see if anyone else has experienced this?

This is common if your magnets are not aligned properly. You have to adjust them with micro movements to get rid of the noise.

Idk if that’s it. The dry side itself when it starts up is what’s whinning

Yes mine do it to unless I get the magnets in perfect allignment.

There are a few threads with similar issues and/or concerns. Alignment and adding some silicon seem to be the common cures.

You ever fix this with the micro adjustments? I have 2 doing the same thing

Yes. It can be fixed with adjustment. I have one on the back ofy tank that is very hard to align, just over 3/4 thick, and hard to reach. If it's hard to see to confirm alignment. I would turn off, adjust, then try turning back on. Do this until it's perfect.

Are you using the suction cups or no?

Mines silent so I don’t have advice except fidget with alignment. I turn up to full speed to align then reduce to desired level

No nothing worked I had to return. Not sure if maybe it’s because I am potentially younger than other commenters and that’s why I can hear this constant high pitched noise but I had 2 different pumps from 2 vendors both do it. Was unbearable for my dog as well

I have 2 DMP-35M pump, one of them have not any noise, but the other one.. as you said , I can hear noise...

And checked my dry side motor, I sure the high pitched noise is from the coil, not from the rotor or bearing or anything else.

Because when I cut off power, the noise will disappear before rotor stop.

I think the reason of this issue is Jebao/Jecod QC is not very well..

Clean it. Detach and reattach. Possibly remove impeller cover and clean under.
