Do Acros Need White Light to Color Up?

I was told this is a strawberry shortcake and as you can see from the polyp extension apparently happy. The current light settings I use are very blue heavy. Do I need to increase the white spectrum to get the pink coloration it’s supposed to have or is it eventually going to color up?

Strawberry Shortcake can take a long time (month or so) to color up. It all depends on the health of the frag and stability in your tank. Might not be a good example. :)

So do you think that the radion clone settings from an AI Prime HD I’m using will do the job? They’re the settings of off the BRS video on the prime HDs. I know the coral is happy, I’m just wondering if it needs more white spectrum or not.

The problem with LED lighting is that it is very easy to tinker with spectrum. Corals don’t like it when we do this..
If it is colored up nicely, I would leave it alone..
I have personally done a test by fooling with sliders on the colors and the corals did not respond well at all...

I find lightening with increasing whites I wouldn’t. I’d hold and do the rest via nutrient modulation / addition to the water or feed differences. In our huge peroxide threads we have reefers decrease white lighting and up blue to avoid coral bleaching when messing around with oxidizers for algae control

cyano and diatom threads are often driven by too high whites we mention that all the time as tank turnaround changes to make. Lighting is good hold pattern imo. It’s not that some white is bad, but somehow blue keeps turning out to be safer in all aspects of setup and invasion battling as well though that color after fifteen years is super annoying. Any dominant overpowering light source is going to get boring lol
