ok i have a large emperor angel, sailing tang Bluejaw trigger and a fuji fox face. Along with many other small fish like damsels, chromis and wrasse. My tank glass is 1/2 thick and is 150tg. So heres my question do fish make grunting sounds? I know its Odd,but when I'm in my fish room I hear these grunting sounds that seem to come from the tank. Its random, and sounds like a quick and fast frog grunt. And i have never caught they doing it.. im not fast enough and i have stared at the tank for awhile hoping to see or hear it happing again with no lucks do fish make grunting sounds and if so why.

Many fish grunt. Sea robins make a racket, it may be your trigger.

Clownfish definitely make noises that sounds somewhat like dolphins. I assume other fish make noises as well.

How do you think croakers and grunts got their name ? Lol

Its the emperor angel they are known for making loud grunts as the other fish might grunt i don't think a clownfish is loud enough to hear outside of the tank

Well post it and it will happen. Its the emperor. I was placing some frags yesterday and pull and placing rock to do so, and he was going grunt crazy. I mean when I was done. We saw him grunting at the other fish. Very cool, odd tho cause he just started this. Is it a maturity thing? He was always a coward. We have had him since he was a juvenile. Nows he pretty big and entering the final stages of his change over.
