I have a waterbox 110.4 and it has a 30-gallon sump. I don't currently have a wavemaker in my sump. I was wondering if I need one or what would it change if I did have one?

The return water should provide the needed movement to keep any bacteria alive as with an ecosystem. Subtle movement is sufficient with only exception if you have chaeto which is dying or lacking flow.

Thank you, I don’t have chaeto yet so I’ll stick with the return pump.
