Do Maxima Clams Move?

You can make your own clam cubby with any reef putty. Using a flat surface, take a decent size ball and flatten into an egg like shape around 1/2 inch thick. Towards the center, use your fingers to make an oblong indent in the middle where the clam will rest. Allow putty to dry for 24 hours or gently place in salt water to allow to harden. Assuming your Maxima is not attached to any surface, gently relocate it to your clam cubby and place in the same location it was previously. Observe the clam. Some movement is expected while the clam snuggles in, however it should not shake itself out of the cubby. If for some reason it does, move the clam and cubby to a more suitable zone

One warning:
Do not attempt to move the clam when it is attached to a rock or your tank. Once attached to the cubby, they should always move together as a singular piece.

Thanks Involuntary Reefer! I will make a nest for it. It hasn’t moved recently so maybe it has found a resting place. So I suppose the nest will be perfect timing
