Do these serve the same purpose?

I could buy the pod hotel for about 34 after tax or use my solution for 2.50. Won't they do the same thing? Give pods in the return area of my IM15 a place to hide and breed and escape. If any sees a potential problem with me using my straws please let me know. Pods go in about 8-9 hrs from now. Plus I heard the hotel floats araound. Mine wont.

Would love to see pics of what takes up residence in that setup.

I'm hoping the copepods I'm gonna put in. It's the same concept as the overpriced peice of plastic they call the pod hotel. That's just cut up garage sale sign material. Sandwich board I think it's called. Just a place in the dark part of my return for them to hide and breed. Until I get rubble rock to put in.

I used aquarium safe netting, wadded it up and attached a zip tie to it and put it in one of the rear chambers. Seems to be working as I have tons of pods. Every now and then I pull it out and swish it in the main display.

Kinda like those scrunchy shower things?

You spent $2.50 on that? Must have splurged on the suction cups.

Doesn't matter anyway. After adding last night and dosing 15ml of phyto I see absolutely nothing on my glass. Except the small trace of diatoms. Still present.
