Tank: 50 Gallon, Seeded Bacteria Rock, Live Sand.
No: Pests or Algae at start.
Dipping Corals as added (Sometimes)**
So, how did bubble Algae get in.... used water from vendor or frags bought is only answer.
How much bubble algae - 6 Emerald Crabs could not keep up...it was multipling at excessive rates...yet PO was near 0.
The below is the Product and schedule.
First - product 7am
Second product around mid day
Third product week1 at night before bed with lights out. You can also on week Two alternate the 3rd product with the forth listed to boost bacteria in tank.
- Remove Carbon, Turn off Skimmer and UV.
- You can boost cleanup crew and PODs as these products did not hurt any of my fish, inverts or corals (I have Zoas, Mushrooms, LPS and Acros...completly safe as advertised.
You can add an air stone for more aeration at night. I also ran a poly filter which turned a purplish color and had to be rinsed daily.
Now what worked for me...and extremely well.
3 products or 4th if you want to alternate week two - all in once per day at different times.
Continuum Redox Plus - First thing in the morning (Dos per bottle) do NOT overdos.
Continuum Clean Equation M - Mid day even if its between 12pm to 5pm when you get home from work, again Dos per bottle.
Continuum Bactor Clean M and you can alternate second week with Continuum Bactor Gen M, added at night before bed.
First week....the bubble algae was still there, I did peck away with a dental tools to remove some before hand....by the end of first week the bubble algae stopped reproducing and was starting to see pieces floating in the water column or wandering onto the powerheads as it was starting to dislodge.
Second week...the bubble algae turned Grey to clear and was all over the bottom of tank and power heads as it was dying and falling off into the water Column.
You see a purplish/red slime on powerheads as the algae decomposed.
At the end of the second week...completly gone - not a bubble algae to be found anywhere... and a month later still none in the tank. This process was amazing and turned a horrible empodemic into a satisfying result.
You can find a YouTube video on this and I have to say it works...no losses.. no complete tear downs and as long as you do it everyday for 2 weeks...complete success. Just read the bottle for directions and dosage for your tank size.
Caution: When adding the Redox Plus with a dropper.. fill the dropper from bottle away from tank and practice the drops as do NOT want to over Dosing this chemical. It takes very little of the product per application on my tank it was only 14 drops. I suggest cutting back 3 or 4 drops from total needed first couple of days and build up to final drops needed per your tank size.
