Do you keep a pistol shrimp/Goby pair?

Thinking about getting a pair. Do you keep a pair? Would you recommend?

I have a wheelers goby and tiger pistol in my nano tank you can check my build thread for pictures! They just made a new home in the front of my tank so I get to see them a lot and honestly their dynamic is a super cool thing to watch. Also an easy keep

Have had several and have one set currently in one system and have an order for a Dracula Goby and a Randall's Pistol Pair coming from Dr Reef next week.

For me, I love the symbiotic relationships in the reef aquarium. Clowns/Anemones; Gobies/Pistol Shrimp/etc.

It's pretty cool to watch how they live together.

My pistol passed recently due to a rock slide, my goby is lost without him! Will be getting another shrimp for him.

Biught the pistol and goby same time 6 months ago. G9dby got sucked in power head after a week. But the shrimp is still in there and ive seen him 3 times. Hear him constanly.

I wrote a whole thread about the risks of having a pair in your tank. Main point is that even though they are unique and cool, they will make borrows where you might not want, drag frags back into their cave, bury frags, and if you want to get them out if they do cause a hassle, say good bye to your entire aquascape

I have a pair of tiger pistols and a female yasha goby.
Goby finally paired with the snippy snappies this morning after about 2 weeks since adding her.
I've kept this pair of pistols for almost 2 years I'm my 20g.
Yes, they move sand around, but they are just too neat to watch (and hear). I just don't put frags near their burrow.

Interesting, I respect the passion. I’m a fowlr rn but good to know about the frags if I make the switch

I have a yellow watchman goby and a candy cane pistol shrimp. I have had them about 5ish years and love them, yes there is constant excavation in their end of the tank but it keeps the sand very clean, I do recommend that you make sure all your rocks are sitting on the bottom of the aquarium without sand under them to prevent rock shifting once they start construction.

I have/had a tiger pistol and aurora goby. Two of the best creatures I’ve ever kept - unfortunately I lost the goby (likely killed by my coral beauty or succumbed to its lost caudal fin), but the pistol is still doing well.
Just about any pairing is lots of fun to watch and almost all are not at all aggressive.
As far as the stealing habits go, the risk is best reduced by gluing everything down and keeping the area around the burrow pretty clear. Neither tends to wander very far.

Have housed a Hi Fin Red Banded Goby and a Candy Cane Pistol for a few months now. Got lucky in that they decided to set up shop with their burrow facing front of tank...great views of them interacting and bopping in and out of their place. Went with the candy cane hoping to avoid massive sand movement...I've loved them and would highly recommend.

I've had a yellow watchman and shrimp for over 6 months. The shrimp is just now getting comfortable with coming out of the burrow to eat. Pretty cool to watch the two of them.
