Do You Name Your Fish?

My female snowflake clown has finally earned her name: Regina George.

She, along with her partner (who is now, by default, Aaron Samuels) and my lemon damsels, are mercilessly bullying my tomato clown, which I had to put in their tank today. He's found a little nook in which to hide, so I'm hoping they'll get bored with him and go back to the cool kids' table.

We have Mickey and Mallory the clowns (Natural Born Killers requested by my hubby) Bob and Carol named after our old neighbours cos I felt like it, Poncho the Conch (o) noo-noo number 1-8 nassarius snails as they are all tiny and look the same, and a new pyjama wrasse currently nameless, though I’m tempted to call her lipstick because of her sticky-out lips.

I personally haven’t taken the time my kids always do it for me. Before they are even out of the bag lol. They have even went as far as naming all the inverts.

it is mainly my sidekick who named them both Nemo. They are also referred with they sex so The girl Nemo and boy Nemo. In this way we are also politically correct. Equal opportunities hah?

I missed out my false dottyback who is called that due to who has chosen it. She/he is a bully too so we refer to it as Bully Dollyfish.

Seems like a perfect opportunity for a Nemo and a Nema!

Peppermint shrimp - strawberry

Yep. All my bettas have names and a few of the catfish who I think are female. 2 of my newest fish are Misha Heart a female reddish pink halfmoon betta, she has a heart on her forehead, and Percy Purple Haze a gorgeous purple and blue crowntail boy.

I name my fish and inverts -- after they've earned a name. Of my current tank inhabitants, only a handful have names.

Glitch - Royal Gramma Basslet (because he arrived under heavy sedation and was swimming like a glitching video game as he came to)
Popeye - Melanurus Wrasse (because he injured himself and has a popped out eye right now)
Ladyfish - Orchid Dottyback (looks like Ladyfish from The Incredible Mr. Limpet)
Bob - Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse (he just seems like a Bob)

Uncle Marv - Yellow Watchman Goby (RIP -- but he looked just like my grumpy late uncle)
