Hi this is a list of fish I want for my 55 gallon fish only tank with 40 lbs of dry rock and I know I cant have all of them so plz tell me what will work and what won’t it’s ok to be harsh this way I won’t impulse buy.

Ok so I have :
- 2 fancy clown fish

I Like having 1 fish of every color so I am thinking of getting :
- 1 flame angel

- 1 orchid dotty back

- 1 or 2 banggai cardinal fish (should I get more then 1)

- 3 blue green chromis
Or
- 1 blue damsel

Possibly:
- 1 lemon butterflyfish
Or
- 1 small yellow Tang (will upgrade)

The dottyback can be aggressive but would generally be ok. I would completly avoid the blue damsel, I tried one once and it would bully my maroon clown that was over twice its size. I got two cardinals in the beginning but one constantly picked on the other one so I had to separate them in different tanks, they are supposed to get along but that wasn't my experience

So instead of the blue damsel would 3 blue green chromis be ok.

They should be fine, they're very peaceful
Ok thank you very much but I have one more question. Do you feel it would be pushing the over all bio load of the tank if I get 3 chromis, 2 cardinals, 1 flame, 1 Dottyback and my 2 clowns. That’s 9 fish in a 55 gallon. I think I might just be overthinking it though. Thanks.

I agree with Mjrenz..I don't feel that would be to much of a bio load

The yellow tang will out grow a 55 gallon
Yellow butterfly fish would questionable
