If the cops show up at my house asking about my blue light, I would tell them to come back with a warrant and they could look all they want. I have nothing to hide but I'm not gonna make it easy for them to invade my privacy.
Why not just tell them it's a fish tank lol. They just want to make sure you aren't growing.

Neighbors definitely know as some of them has helped me carry large tanks in and out if my home.
Years back I had a massive grow out room in my garage that radiated so much light from halides and VHO that I got a visit from the sheriffs office enough that they sent a memo out in the department to not respond to drug related lights at my address.

One evening my gate was open on my rear driveway and a child about 8 years of age rode by several times on his bike staring at me.
When I walked out to the street and asked if he needed something he replied with this...
"I know what you gt in there "
I immediately thought this little turd had been on my property snooping around, so I asked yeah what ?
He says
" you got that good s&!+ growing in there "
I laughed extremely hard at first and took him for a tour to show him what was in there because he did t believe me.

I spent the night thinking of how the world has changed that an 8 year old would be so educated on such topics.
I'm sure many in my neighborhood thinks something illegal is going on in my home due to the lights but hey it's all good right

I'm from Scotland here. I have a definite blue hue from my t5's in the pm
Although drugs are pretty common here I've never considered that people might think I'm growing weed.

There ain't many reefers round here. I don't know any other than the guys that work at the lfs. So I've never seen anyone's house lit up.
A visit from the police would be pretty funny [emoji23]
I used to have a nice car and I'm only 25 so I used to get pulled over a lot with the following statement.
Who's car is this. What do you do for a living. I can smell weed. We want to search your car.

Not much better than knowing your innocent [emoji56] and the police wasting there time while you have a smug look on your face.

Plus any chance to talk about my tank is always good

None of my neighbors have asked yet. My tank is in the living room and lights up the main door windows blue bit not the big windows in the room. Makes for a really cool effect. There are a ton off walkers in my town so come spring I expect a lot of questions lol

I rented a house from a very in-your-face nosey lady in town who would just walk into my house all the time until I started keeping the chain on. There were glass block windows in the basement and the blue glow was bright. One evening, she showed up with a bunch of officials: cops to haul me away, animal control to take my pet show bunnies, child services to take my kids and some other guy for a witness. The landlord had fully expected me to be arrested for growing pot so she had arranged this little hunting party. They all went to the basement and went silent. She stood there dumbfounded as the egg on her face was drying. They all thought my tanks & bunnies were cool and I was happy to talk about how to take care of them, why the blue light at night, how I got into the hobby, the shows and clubs I go to, etc. I even ended up with a couple new cop friends who would stop by to chat. One even bought a bunny from me for his daughter. We all had a good laugh (except her). To this day, she can't keep tenants very long. No situations at the place I live now despite the bright blue light out the front windows...yet.

Plants grow better in purple light vs blue. So as long as they don't see my sump light which is counter to my day lamps, I don't think anyone will be calling the cops.
More red!
Mine don't know from the lights but several have asked me if I had a plumbing problem while I was dumping a brute can during water change

Lol I had a knock at my door when me and my girlfriend were in my man cave chatting. I'm looking at her like who'd you invite over and she was like no one.. I open the door to cops saying a neighbor called in a noise complaint, I said we'll were both fine and haven't made much noise, we've just been chatting in my man cave, and they immediately asked, what's all those different colored lights in your room? (mind you I have thick blinds and blackout curtains and they still saw the light.) I said oh that's my fish tank in my man cave. Then I cracked open my front door further and they saw my 120 DT with the same bright lights and a 65g QT setup that was in my living room and they didn't ask any more questions and walked off silently.( they walked up to the window and actually listened into our conversation as well..) I was like these fools here, they Got busted with a lie lol, no one called them in, they saw the blue lights and black out blinds and thought I had something to hide lol. Good times though, I seriously laughed because that's totally the wrong color scheme for what they're looking for. Plus They won't catch that at my place! Haha

Yep! I'll have to get a pic! Ours is in the front room, and we have a wall-wide cathedral window. LOL. Unless we have the Christmas tree up, everyone sees the blue room!

I bought a house last May and work from home a lot, so who knows what they think. My basement windows glow red at night too as my sump and fuge are down there :-)

I had a "Knock and Talk" by the sheriff a long time ago. When I opened the front door they could plainly see the tank. I think they figured it out pretty quick.

Mine is visible from the street behind during the winter but not during the summer. Some of my neighbors love to come over and look at the tanks. Others don't have a clue. I keep them confused by naming my wifi "FBI surveillance"
