Does everyone REALLY go the length to prevent ich with multiple tanks and a dedicated QT for everything?

I feel like I have killed more fish in QT than just putting them in my display. Copper dosing is a pain the rear...

I might try QT in buckets for 14 days with my new fish. 2 buckets, 2 heaters, 2 air stones...transfer daily for 14 days. I don't have room to manage a whole new QT tank and I don't want to buy tons of equipment to support one (skimmer, bigger heaters, bigger tanks, ATO, yadda yadda). I feel there is too little room for failure with copper dosing.

I used to quarantine every fish that I got, now that I buy less, I trust TSM Aquatics and Dr Reefs. While I still have my quarantine tank and equipment, I think the markup they charge for the quarantining service is reasonable as they can do it at scale.
So far they have not disappointed (aquabiomics verified).
