Does messing with the rocks make anyone else ticked off?

Its like taking a bunch of random puzzle pieces and fitting them together. Heres a trick I learned that might help out some of the larger tank people (55+). Maybe make a small frame out of PVC, and put it in the tank and structure around it. With the sand in place, it should be fairly secure, and just something else to use as stabilizer.

Well i think whoever said the angel fish was safe is at half fault. Tank maintance is all about preplanning your stock from fish to coral. Then adding all LR means bigger chance of unwanted critters which mean tear down later.

If you dont change your rockscape around a few time the first yr as you learn then your not trying. Its normal to rearrange and this might not end but complete tear downs are hard.

For setup theres many ways to go and remember to have fun with it . For instance i use some PVC that i made into a box and place a good piece of rock on it. This gives room for larger fish to dwell and swim while allowing for water to move thru it.

Whene placeing rock you want the larger main pieces on the bottom glass and then build up. Place rocks in a way they are stable and then use epoxy to insure its placement. Also dont be affraid to shape rock as needed.

Its part of reefing but in your case with a bad fish choice it was avoidable.

Yea, Im not gunna even hide it either, I added those fish and all way too early, and I joined some online forums and realized the correct way to do things. Now I think the way I have it is a keeper, and we'll see how things work out. I dont epoxy the rocks down so that I can take out the rocks and frag em and because Ive never found some epoxy that SWF safe.

I don't add fish to my tank unless it's 99% reef safe or better....if there is a doubt I don't bother.

I would love to add a bicolor blenny but people say it sometimes takes chunks out of corals, so thats a no go. I would really love to get a midas blenny or something with a lot of color. Any recommendations are welcome! and I dont know if Id do a goby or not, he might undermine the rocks a little. Granted most rocks are pushed down in the sand but the last goby I had got burried.

Even good fish go bad, though. A friend had a cherub angel for 6 years. Never touched a thing. He got a few acan frags from me and it started eating every LPS in the tank. He had to drain the 270 and remove half the rock to get it. He contemplated the speargun technique:D.

I hate it all the time. With the recent trading Ive been doing, I honestly have too many pieces. So many freaking cheap zoanthids in the tank and GSP from when I first started, I really considered throwing them outside in the bushes today. I did that with 3 mushrooms that I managed to scrape off, and then put the rock upside down, so if they do grow back, I hope they die.

I'll take your cheap zoas, gsp, and any mushrooms you want to get rid of...
