I dose limewater and lye (in water) separately. Clearly, the lye increases PH more than the limewater but the question is a little more complicated.

I can only so much without my alk rising over my target. So, for a given impact on alkalinity, which has a bigger impact on PH?

Thanks in advance

It's the same, per unit of Alkalinity. You don't have the evaporation limit concerns with sodium hydroxide, obviously.
