I used Poly-fill with my Cichlid tank. can get it pretty decently at Walmart or any crafts store. THese cups are designed to just take a wad of it and no filter floss if you're too busy to cut anything. :)

** I experimented with many types of filtration with those Cichlid.

I have a bashsea bio-Fuge with a single holder on a 40 gallon breeder. Dumped the sock for the Red Sea cup and line the cup with pinky filter floss. I can get the floss on Amazon 12 feet for $17. The pinky stuff is good because it has a coarse side and a small micron side. I change it out weekly or when it’s clogged. Works great and I get to dump the socks I absolutely hate. Lol.

I liked the dry-erase sticker with the octopus they gave me with my first order!

Yes sir. He's not super into it internet culture wise like sharing files and stuff. But he for sure thought it was just out of this world and had to get one. We use auto cad for a living so it was easy to get into.

I HATE floss.....sorry - I'd I can't use a Red Sea ReefMat, I'd stick with socks.

Floss....is terrible, messy and just simply annoying.

Why do you say that???
I have a 90g sump right now.....with floss. Sits on egg crate - floss - then another piece of egg crate, to help spread the water.

I have pre-cut sheets of floss. Then - when I change it (cause it starts to smell), let the water drain out - toss the soaked, crud filled floss in the trash and restart. Do this a few times a week.

Also floss = no flexibility for microns. Water clarity is a huge thing. Doesn't polish my water...at all.

So why socks? Mesh (if you use fleece...I do feel bad for you) are the way to go. I can get finer microns - depending on my needs.

I can pop a mesh sock out - flip inside out and use the sprayer on my kitchen sink, clean - flip back and it's back in tank. Entire process.....takes 30 secs? I'm working on getting a sock holder constructed.

Fraction of the time it takes me to deal with floss. Lol

This is main reef tank - so, I can't get a fleece roller on it. But if I could....I'd go that route above all else.
