"Moisture in the charge port" - seems to happen all the time and lasts for 2 days no matter how much I try to dry it via silica gel, hairdryer, rice.

Basically won't let me charge unless I power it off then on again and plug it in during boot up.

Welll last night I guses it decided their was water in the charge port, but battery is completely dead and will not boot up, will not charge.

DONE! I'm new in Orlando and rely on my phone gps/maps to get around, not to mention need it for work, my tablet doesnt have service minus my home wifi so its like Im dead in the water.

Does anyone recommend an non galaxy android that doesn't have this incredibly annoying feature of basically turning into a paper weight if the humidity is high on gets a tiny bit of water in the charge port?

TIA

I never had the 8. I had the 7, then went to the note9 and now the note10+ 5g it's an incredible phone. My wife has the I phone 11. And I honestly hate it lol. But I'm biased I dont care for the apple products. I feel like the android versions are easier to use and navigate. (For me)

I have used wireless charging pads in the past, but soo slow! also seems to have to be placed on the pad just right in order to charge.

This S8 is supposed to be waterproof upto 10ft, but remains unable to cord charge for 3 days afterwards, pffft and humid weather will also make it unchargeable,

Been battling this all the time here in floridas humidity with this phone.

I'm done ! I have stood in front of the sink diposal considering shoving it in there and flipping the switch many times after waking up to a dead phone.
That's not how I like to start my day.

I miss my s5, had two standby batteries could grab those and be good for a week.

Ive enjoyed LG phones. Mine is the V20, which is dated compared to current phones, but its been reliable and the build in DAC has been nice for some of my longer flights. My wife has the LG G7 ThinQ, and she enjoys it as well.

Pixel phone. Pure Android, without any Samsung (or LG or Motorola, etc) extras.

This doesn't affect phones that use the USB-C interface (S9 and newer for Samsung). With that said, if you know the phone has issues charging after being exposed to water, why would you continue exposing it to water?

Look into the S9+, it's really a great phone. I have a charge pad and it charges quicker than if I plug it in.

S8+ is Usb C interface as well.

It will do this regardless of its exposure to water, high humidity or rainy days here in FL will trigger it as well, regardless of it not being exposed to water directly.

I have cleaned the port, followed all the google-able tips out there etc etc

I think it's just a freak thing with your phone. I have an S8 and ive exposed this thing to humidity you wouldn't believe. I do consulting with paper mills and im routinely in 110deg rooms then switching to cold no issues. South LA swamp air so thick you can hardly breathe and sweating like crazy no issue whatsoever. Its been sprayed with water, but not submerged.

My coworkers have Samsung, apple, & Motorola no issue either though. So take your pick. If it can survive us they can survive about anyone

Galaxy S8+

Sorry ur having problems. I have the S8+ also and never had a problem. I spend a lot of time in florida and other high humidity areas and moisture has never affected my phone. I literally wash my phone off under the sink to clean it. I guess you could always get the I-phone. GL

upgrade. the s7 is 4 years old, my note9 has a broken screen and has been dropped in the water more times than i can count. no issues, even with a broken screen.
