I'd recommend the Google Pixel 4 if your looking for a new Android phone

S8+ is Usb C interface as well.

It will do this regardless of its exposure to water, high humidity or rainy days here in FL will trigger it as well, regardless of it not being exposed to water directly.

I have cleaned the port, followed all the google-able tips out there etc etc

Then it is likely defective (assuming it hasn't been damaged) as previously mentioned by another member.

My note 8 does the same thing. And I have never put mine in water. Phone in my pocket during rain will set it off. Wireless charging is the only option until the phone decides it is dry enough. So aggravating.

I am a fan of the Pixel (formerly known as Nexus) line straight from Google. Went from the Nexus 5, to the Nexus 6P, to the Pixel 3 XL, and now the Pixel 4 XL.
