Don't you hate a thief

This is a related topic, how many of you are in an area were hitting mailboxes with bats, hammers, bricks, etc. is common. Where my parents and grandmother live we have more issues with this then thefts fortunately.

That is a common here in rural Vermont. Mine finally got hit after about 14 years. It was tossed several feet away. The post was rotten and it needed replacing anyway.

There is a rise of theft around here, we had my wife's car window smashed in the early morning along with others on our street. The 23 year old lives on our street and just got out of jail...looking for quick cash or items for easy sell. There have been more shootings lately as well, mostly drug related, local kid goes to buy drugs, gets drugs, doesn't pay, gets shot at, he returns fire, he gets arrested, no one in the trailer park narcs out the other shooter. We even had a murder of a woman from the city, she went missing up here, her car was found burning along the roadside. Her body was eventually found in a local river. Never heard of anyone being charged.

We've always had the local ding a lings, drunks who steal stuff, big stuff, little stuff, sell it, bury it. The guys who make "problems" go away like piles of asbestos laden building material from Boston that get hauled away cheap and buried in the woods. Those guys have all but passed away though.

So 2nights ago I got these pics of some random guy roaming around my backyard looking for stuff that's not his. Just irks me.

He came twice in the same night once at around 9:30 and once around 11:30 real piece of work.

Bang bang bang!

Having a dog is a good defense. Having a big dog with a low loud bark that you can feel is a better defense. We live in the country so it is always nice to have some muscle ready to help out if necessary. Sadly my good friend below passed away Jan 18, 2019 2 days before the wolf moon. I still haven't recovered. We still have 1 Dane but she is dumb as rocks and useless as a deterrent. :(

You need a blue bully! I promise you won’t have any more problems with the intruder.
I’m a retired blue bully and dang proud of it. My home is protected by me, my wife, and two German Shepherds.

if they get past the dogs that is when their real, short term, problems begin and end.

in all seriousness though, dogs are a great deterrent to BEMS (booger eating morons).

I thought we had a prowler this weekend. A broom I left by the back door came crashing down at about midnight. I blasted through the sliding glass door in my underwear to see a Possom shuffling off under the shed.

The hardest part of owning pets, imho.

Best friend I ever had. RIP Gunner 7/27/2018
