DOS Repair

Hi. I am the original OP. I never got to buy the motor. It’s still available on AliExpress. Like many said, the shipping is crazy. The other reason I never bought the motor was I had never bought from AliExpress before at the time. Now that I have bought multiple times from it, I might just as well buy a couple of motors. It beats sending the unit to Neptune incurring down time.

I was changing water manually all this time and never realized that my DOS AWC was offline for that long. I bought another DOS unit some years back soon after my DOS broke, and never got to install it. It still sitting there spanking new. I am Still looking forward to replace the broken motor. The new unit will be for dosing. The repaired unit will be for AWC.

I was thinking about buying a few motors just to repair these things if they break again. I assume they break very often when used as AWC. Shipping cost less if you buy multiple pieces.

alNope. I gave up. The only option I found is cost prohibitive. I can't see myself buying another. The build quality is too low.

what did you use your DOS for to have it running for that many years? is is for water change? I used mine for water change and it died a little after the warranty expired. No more than 1.5 years as I recalled.

A side story. My trident died too after no more than 2 years. But I fixed it based on some internet info. It turns out that 2 of the 5 or 6 magnetic solenoids that control flows amount the reagents and waste and test water sources pulled these little tubes out causing it to leak and not allow liquids to flow returning a test failure message. Also, these parts are available at AlieExpress. So was an electrical part in the EB832 that breaks often (almost every power failure) available there. I have replace that part at least 3 to 4 time with the 2 EB832 I own.

After disassembling and fixing the Trident (seemingly a very complicated device), these things don't appear that hard to fix as long as you can get your hands on it's parts.
