Hi Everyone,

I've been trying to look up how to manually dose Alk+Calc. I have the Red Sea Foundation A & B liquid concentrate.

My parameters are as follows:
PH: 8
DKH: 7.5 (goal is 9)
Calcium: 400-405 (would like it to be around 440)

My tank is 20G & has a candy cane coral, hammer coral, & duncan coral.

I'll be manually dosing it but how do I know how much to dose daily? Do i start by increasing it to what my goal is when i do my next water change tomorrow?

I've tried dosing 0.25ml of the alk solution & it shot up too quick to around 10.

Thanks!

Simply put, test right before dosing about 0.5ml. Test at the same time next day. If your alk is going up, that means your tank didn’t use the 0.5ml you’ve dosed. If it goes down, that means your tank used all the 0.5ml. If it stays the same, your tank consumed exactly the amount you’ve dosed.

To lower the deviation, I like to test right before the light comes on. And I think it is suggested to only increase by 0.5dkH a day I think.

Thanks! I'll start tomorrow morning.
