Dosing New Tank

Hey guys - My tank has been up and running since early December. I left the hobby after 20+ years of reefing but took a break when I moved from Chicago to Dallas. My previous tanks were fed by calcium reactors to keep up with demand of the SPS dominated tank. I am again going to run a SPS tank but elected to run a Coral Box doser this time. I ran my parameters today and came up with:

Alk - 9.6 dkh
Cal - 400

I dont gave a Mag test kit but will pick one up soon. Both readings were from Hanna Checkers. I know this may be a dumb question but when would you start doing 2 part? Wait until the tank can't keep up with demand or start now?

Right now I only have a few frags but will continue to add more every month or so.
