I have an LPS dominant 120 and need to get a dosing pump for alkalinity. I've read the reviews and as many threads as I can find and would like some definitive advice as to which one to purchase.

Thanks in advance.

I like the EcoTech Versa. I have been using it for about 4 years. I have had no problems. It's quite, doses a wide range of quantity, set the different times to dose by time, programming is very easy

I have had good luck with kamoer and reefdose but they're the only ones I've used. I really like the reefdose and love the app but hate giving redsea any more of my money.
Thanks. Not a huge Red Sea fan either but very impressed with the ReefWave gyre, which has been flawless for a few years now.

Another vote for a ecotech versa. I’ve been running mine for all for reef and recently switched it to vinegar for my new tank. I don’t hear it, it’s accurate and easy to adjust the dose from the app.

I also have an apex DOS but have never used it, the versa has been all I need. I would honestly trade the DOS for another versa or two.

I like that all my smart stuff is in one app, radions, mp40s and versa.

Thanks. Am hoping the app is simple?

Kamoer k1 is underrated. Very cost-effective, does the same thing as reefdose, app controlled, can be controlled from anywhere

I have 4 versa, for two part dosing, running for up to three years now without issues. Annual tube replacement. Main drawback is the lack of remote controllability , which is a reason why I am looking for different options now, including the new Tunze. Also, I am planning to run my alkalinity through the AquaWiz soon.

If its continuous, I would suggest a kamoer. Anything else, sentia dose is awesome (and cheap).

I cannot stand the Versa's. Pieces of crap.

Well we all have our opinion on things. I have 3 Versa units, and they work perfectly since day one.

I was not aware Tunze had a dosing pump and will take a look. Also giving the Kamoer X1 Pro T2 serious consideration.
Thanks for all the input.

Can you connect to them via wifi? (promised by EcoTech when they were coming out). Do you receive notifications from them?

Answer to both is no btw. I own 3 myself. Trash.

I run 6 Kamoer x1's and 3 xtp's on various systems. All my x1's were purcjased used for half price. Only one xtp was purchased new. Good pumps for the money.
I run an xtp 24/7 @ 1mlm of kalk in my new 112. No need for anything else until demand increases.
X1's run esv 2 part currently.

If you added a MXM module to your Apex, you could have most of your Ecotech stuff in Apex Fusion along with the DOS. Not sure about versa though. That may not be compatible with MXM.

The DOS is good if you are using it for long distances. Like I have DOSes pulling water from my garage, up over my kitchen and down into my tank for auto water changes and kalkwasser. But you need a Apex to control the DOS.

Yea have the apex. Do you power your ATO off to do the WC? One side of the dos is removing tank water and the other is adding fresh mixed water after the removal is done? Then turn ATO plug back on?

The way I have it setup, it's pumping water in and out at the same time. Both pumps are set to the same speed. It's getting the out-going water from the beginning of the sump and it's pumping the fresh saltwater into my return pump chamber.

This shouldn't really impact the ATO. I usually have my ATO turned off anyway because I dose kalkwasser at the same rate as my evaporation. So I don't need my ATO most of the time.
